“Okay. When you’re a long time denture wearer and suddenly, without warning, they break clean in two, what do you do?
Well, if you’re me, you initially go into a blind panic. It’s three weeks until Christmas. I have no idea where to turn! HELP!!

Well, a quick Google search informed me that the Reah Denture Clinic in Newcastle is potentially my nearest source of assistance.
Quickly I made contact via their website and was told to just pop along the following day! (The following day!! It would take about an hour to fix! An hour!! Amazing!!)

So I turned up the following day, clasping my sad little denture and, immediately, felt a wave of relief wash over me as Andrew and David took charge of proceedings and explained the repair procedure to me. Admittedly when I was asked how old the denture was and I replied, “Hmmmm… about 15 years” , there might have been the slightest intake of breath from Andrew, but, with no further judgement, he got on with the job in hand. I went for a quick walk round town and an hour later it was all fixed.

Good to go! Sorted!

Well, yes, the repair was fixed and it still is weeks later. It’s a brilliant job and I’m very grateful.

BUT (don’t worry that there’s a ‘but’, it’s not a precursor to a negative!) without any pressure whatsoever from Andrew or David, I had come to the conclusion that having had my good old dentures for such a long time, it would probably make sense to have new ones fitted.

Time was at a premium if I wanted new gnashers by Christmas Day, but once the decision was made a timetable of appointments was put together and the process started. Each appointment was relaxed and, dare I say it, actually enjoyable.

At the outset, I explained that I still wanted to look like me and that I didn’t want “Jurgen Klopp teeth”. David knew what I meant thankfully and today, I have been fitted with dentures that look absolutely natural, fit brilliantly and most of all, just make me look like – well like a much more smiley version of myself.

Basically what I’m saying in such a long winded way is this. Andrew and David at the Reah Denture Clinic are absolutely brilliant at sorting out your broken dentures or making your new ones.

So if the worst happens, don’t despair. You know where to go!”
